John vonKersburg is a native of Durango, Colorado and has been in Tucson for the past 12 years. John graduated Magna Cum Laude from Grand College University in human biology and exercise physiology. John received his degree as a physician’s assistant from the Arizona School of Health Sciences.
In his years of medical practice John has taken a holistic approach to treating patients’ symptoms and working to counsel the patient to get back to their optimum health. John has an extensive background in internal medicine.
John’s passion in medicine circles around the field of bariatric medicine and the field of medically supervised weight loss. John has worked with patients that are battling obesity and the complications associated with the disease. His work on endocrine systems, hormone therapy, exercise physiology and understanding of the mind/body connection of obesity makes him one of southern Arizona’s authorities on the many challenges surrounding it. John has worked in surgical settings with lap band patients and managed their post operative care including counseling programs and introduction of exercise protocols.
John is an avid road and mountain bike enthusiast.
