Hormone Replacement Therapy

Are you feeling irritated and tired?
Your hormones may be to blame.

It is important that your hormones are in the proper ratio; only then you will enjoy good health. However, too little or too much of it can create a hormone imbalance in your body.

HRT can offset many of the symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Furthermore, it can also bring back your quality of life and improve your health.

What is Hormone Replacement Therapy?

Hormone Replacement Therapy is sometimes known as HRT or Estrogen Therapy.

Hormones are potent chemicals. They travel in the bloodstream and created by the endocrine glands.

Too little or too much of any hormone can affect the normal functioning of the body.

Research proves that HRT also prevents more crippling diseases such as bone loss, heart disease. There are a few risks associated with the long-term use of hormone therapy. However, the risks depend on the dose, type of therapy, duration, etc.

At QLMC, your doctor will create a personalized treatment plan. We review it every 3-6 months to eliminate the possibility of risks.

We use the following types of HRT to administer the medication.

  • Systemic hormone therapy – Systemic estrogen comes in pill, gel, cream, ring, spray, or a skin patch. This treats the common symptoms of hormone imbalance. This can contain a higher estrogen concentration.
  • Low-dose vaginal products. We use low-dose vaginal products in the form is a tablet, ring, or cream. This ensures minimal absorption of estrogen.

QLMC doctors may prescribe a combination of estrogen and progestin. This combination lessens the risk of endometrial cancer. However, if you’ve had a hysterectomy (uterus removal), you may not need progestin.

This can also be due to some medications, etc. But, it can also be due to the malfunctioning of the endocrine gland.
